2010 American Music Awards (AMA): Taylor Swift Grabs her Third Country Female Artist Award



The 38th Annual American Music Awards is underway at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, and Taylor Swift was among the early winners. Although she received only one nomination this year, the 20-year-old country beauty made the best of it. At the Sunday, November 21 ceremony, she was announced as the winner of Favorite Country Female Artist. 




Beating heavy competitors Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood, the "Mine" hitmaker thanked fans upon receiving the award. "I only wanna thank the fans," she gushed. "You get me and you know where I'm coming from." This is the third year in a row she took home the title since winning it first in 2008. 

While Taylor nabbed her seventh AMA kudos, Justin Bieber grabbed his first wins. The 16-year-old nailed T-Mobile Breakthrough Artist, besting over the likes ofLady Antebellum, Travis McCoy and Mike Posner, and Reuters reported that he beat Eminem in the pop/rock category when his album "My World 2.0" came out as the Favorite Album. 

Justin's mentor Usher also scored a win on the special night. He was presented the award for Favorite Soul/R&B Album thanks to his "Raymond vs. Raymond" album. Other winners included Black Eyed Peas who grabbed Favorite Pop/Rock Group,Shakira who was given Favorite Latin Music kudo and Rihanna who was dubbed Favorite Female Soul/R&B Artist.
